I have come to realize that there are a lot of everyday situations that I do not know how to handle. One is this one: what are you supposed to do when you see a deer grazing peacefully on the side of the road?
a) honk like crazy to scare the deer back into the woods.
b) pull over and chase the deer back into the woods.
c) drive by and do nothing.
d) call the cops.
e) none of the above.

My vote is for c) Drive by and do nothing.
Where I come from there are a lot of deer, and by and large they're pretty hip to the whole highway thing. (Not that I haven't seen one or two leap lemming-like into traffic on occasion. But mostly they do not require human intervention of the sort you postulate, ma'am.)
