Question for the ESI Legal Team

What happens when you discover a blank 2006 Census form when you are housecleaning? Should I recycle it, burn it, fill it out and try sending it now? Will they come and take me away, or give me a big fine?

I know you're not asking me, but... I'm surprised they let you get away with that. Normally they hound the crap out of you. Your area must have had lazy foot workers. Anywhoo, don't complain when they give the schools around you tons of money, or cut off road maintenance because they don't think anyone lives at your house :)

See s. 32 of the Statistics Act
"Refusal to grant access to records"
Possible fine: $1000
Possible imprisonment: 6 months

How long will this cloud hang over your head? Until June 2008 (See s. 36 "Limitation Period")

Well, I guess those bandages are going to stay on a little longer now

Oh - Bob! So, nice to see you! I missed you.

Legal team: I knew you would give me a very precise answer to this.

What we coyotes do when confronted with a situation like this, Ms. Aggie, ma'am, is dig a quick but deepish hole in the ground with our forepaws, and bury the offending item.

In the spirit of full disclosure, you must of course be fully apprised of the fact that the legal team probably holds strong contrary views regarding the appropriateness of such an action. You should also be aware that we coyotes are not regarded as prosecutable under law, and don't give a rat's ass for legal teams or the Statistics Act. So, this advice may not pertain to your specific circumstances. Um, sorry I couldn't be more helpful...

I think framing it and then putting a bright, red bow on it will turn it into a lovely Christmas gift for someone who's into documents like that...
