Tips for recovery week

10 tips for holiday recovery week:
1) Chinese medicine. Ginseng tea. Herbal pills to boost your immune system. Go to a Chinese doctor if you need help selecting medicines. Tell him/her that you are a borderline alcoholic and a nervous wreck and he/she'll get you fixed right up.
2) Drag your sorry ass to a yoga class. Start with a Beginner Class. I've even gone to a "Yoga for Special Needs" class to start off the new year - for people recovering from illness, injury and the like. You mostly lie on the floor, and that's a good thing right now.
3) Don't startle your body by suddenly not drinking or not smoking. Keep a level of toxicity in the body.
4) Go to work and blog as a way to ease into your work work.
5) Call in sick one day on the first week back.
6) Get a new pet. Caring for some kind of critter - even a fish - will take the focus of you and your recovery.
7) Get self-righteous about something and rant about it.
8) Keep your out-of-office message on for a couple more days.
9) Go out and buy 3 new CDs with money you don't have right now. Listen at full volume.
10) Continue Publog Research.

Hmm. So, 3, 5, 8 and 10 are all closely related, then.

I've done #3 (maintain toxicity) and #7 (get self-righteous) and I'm feeling much better now. Thank you.
