Growing up WASP
Remember a while back when I was blogging about my friend who said she needed to see a counsellor, and I responded by saying "You were made for counselling"? Then, I had regrets about saying this to her because I wasn't sure would take it as a compliment? Anyway, she did take it as a compliment, fortunately, and she's loving the counselling experience. She said, "Sometimes I think my counsellor is a bit full of shit. But, that's probably because I'm not being totally honest myself." You see how good she is? It's made me want to go back and see my own counsellor, so that we can get together and talk about our sessions while drinking. Tonight we talked about the trauma of growing up in WASP families, WASP repression, and WASP complexity. How we are both messes because of it all.

Aggie, you make me feel glad to be Catholic. Is WASP-ness so awful?
Consider yourself lucky. Although I hear you Catholics have some guilt issues...
