I Need A Retreat

Thanks to all of you who recommended books. My second request to you is to recommend a retreat. I am desperately in need of one. I am open to a yoga retreat, a writer's retreat, a meditation retreat, a spa retreat, or any combination of these. I need the retreat to be in a place that doesn't require a passport, since I still don't have one. I do not want anything that involves interpretative dancing, raw foods, mindful eating, colonic cleanses, or sitting around a circle with strangers and disclosing. Ideas?

You should have lunch with my mother... she will read your tea leaves!

Have you met this Deere woman, XUP?

Manny Blue: I think lunch with your mother should definitely be part of my program.

No, I just know someone who went there once. Personally, if and when I need a retreat, I create my own. I either lock myself up at home or get a hotel room somewhere or even a cottage in the woods with a pile of books, my favorite foods & music and whatever else I need for a few days of hermitage. Unplug the radio, TV, phone and just be. The thought of going to an actual retreat with other people guiding my retreatness makes me squirm. You know what you need for downtime better than anyone. So, go and retreat. That's my advice.
